2015 High Tech Road Show Sector Focus: Aerospace & Aviation
Texas is one of the most important locations for the global aerospace and aviation industry. Two major international airlines call Texas home – American and Southwest – as does NASA’s world-famous Johnson Space Center. Other major aviation-related employers in the State include ExpressJet, Boeing, Gulfstream, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, American Eurocopter, BAE Systems and Bell Helicopter.
Texas has hundreds of airports, 25 of them commercial, and 28 housing offices of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Two of the best known, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Bush Intercontinental Airport (in Houston), are major commercial hubs and are among the world’s 20 busiest airports.
