About Las Vegas
Bright lights and world-class entertainment attract millions of tourists from all over the world to Las Vegas every year. It is a different allure, however, that draws some of the world’s most innovative professionals to the city: a friendly business climate, according to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which consistently lists Nevada as one of America’s top three states in “Overall Business Climate.”
The city’s commitment to showcasing groundbreaking technology is highlighted every year at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the world’s largest trade show for consumer electronics technology. The 2015 CES drew more than 170,000 attendees from more than 158 countries, with over a quarter of the participants coming from overseas. Last year’s event attracted 82% of the 2014 Fortune 100 companies, with over 3,600 companies exhibiting. Thousands of new products were launched at last year’s event, and featured technology breakthroughs and product launches across the technology ecosystem, including driverless cars, 3D printers, life-saving body monitoring systems, and connected homes. This year’s International CES is expected to highlight breakthrough technologies that improve lives of seniors and people with disabilities; technologies in additive manufacturing (like 3d printing), fully automated “smart homes,” and cutting-edge robotics; and in gaming and virtual reality products.
The State of Nevada’s commitment to the sort of technological innovation highlighted at CES is shown by the state’s investment in next-generation broadband infrastructure, which is set to increase internet speeds in Las Vegas and surrounding areas to 100 times the national average. This is a driving factor in Nevada’s goal to diversify the economy and to make Las Vegas the premier regional hub for technology and business.
The 2014 “Small Business Policy Index,” which ranks states according to pro-business public policy climates, named Nevada the second most entrepreneur-friendly state in the nation due to recent legislation aimed at attracting business and investment. A $1.8 billion public works initiative, coupled with Nevada’s status as one of the fastest growing export states in the country, are also driving growth.
Las Vegas is less than an hour by air from Salt Lake City, Utah, where the National U.S.-Arab Chamber of Commerce maintains an office with full-time staffing. Utah, a stop on the 2014 High Tech Road Show, has consistently been listed in the top three of Forbes magazine’s “Best States for Doing Business,” and Utah was recently named the most business-friendly state for small companies by Governing magazine.

About Silicon Valley
The Road Show’s visit to the Silicon Valley is always a highlight for any delegation focused on technology and innovation. NUSACC, with the support of IJMA3-USA and several partners, are supporting the visit and promoting it to local IT companies within their networks. With the support of the Small and Medium sized business community, NUSACC will be holding a Round Table discussion where SMEs will get the opportunity to present their technology directly to the members of the delegation. The site visits and meetings are planned with major players in the IT sector such as Intel, HP, Juniper Networks, VMware, Microsoft, etc. High-level B2B meetings are also arranged for our HTRS Corporate Sponsors. The meetings are crafted to explore business prospects in the Arab world, including export and import of technologies and services with a focus on developing strong and long-term partnering opportunities between U.S. and Arab companies. The program of activities highlights e-government solutions, consumer electronics, investment opportunities, and the mutual exchange of expertise and training.

About Washington, DC
The nation’s capital will be the third and final stop on the HTRS 2016 10-day tour. While earlier stops will focus largely on business-to-business opportunities, the visit to Washington DC will concentrate primarily on U.S. Government resources and initiatives available to enhance the role of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) in the Arab world, especially through greater broadband access and more effective regulation.
Meetings and roundtable discussions on these topics will occur with U.S. Government agencies such as the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Department of Commerce, and the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), an agency of the U.S. Government that assists host country economic development through infrastructure projects, market-oriented reform, job creation, training, and the transfer of advanced technology.
