Rim is Director for the National U.S.-Arab Chamber of Commerce (NUSACC) representing California and the West Pacific region. Since its inception nearly 40 years ago, NUSACC has been the preeminent organization for fostering trade and investment between the United States and the 22 countries of the Arab world. With offices in New York, Houston, Los Angeles, and its headquarters in Washington DC, NUSACC covers the nation from coast-to-coast and is the only entity in the United States with official recognition conferred by the League of Arab States and the General Union of Arab Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture. This unique designation provides NUSACC with unparalleled access to U.S. and Arab embassies, high-level government officials, senior business leaders, and chambers of commerce in the United States and throughout the 22 nations of the Arab world.
NUSACC opened the Los Angeles office as it became aware of California’s unique strengths in international trade, foreign language, and entrepreneurship. Rim helps California businesses expand their trade with the Middle East and North Africa region, through strategic planning and introductions; matchmaking with NUSACC’s network of over 25,000 members, affiliates, and stakeholders; trade missions to and from the MENA region; and local and national events to inform American businesses about best practice and opportunities in the Middle East and North Africa today.
Rim was born and raised in Alexandria, Egypt. She graduated from the University of Alexandria, with a Bachelor of Arts in English Language & Literature. She also completed a Certificate of Business Administration and Management from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Rim speaks English and German fluently in addition to her native language, Arabic as well as some French.
Ms. Elbayar-Aly has over 20 years experience in the field of corporate communication, business development, strategic planning, publications, and event management in Alexandria, Egypt working for the World Health Organization (WHO); in Dubai, UAE working for the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry and Commerce and in Los Angeles, Califronia working for the California Council on Economic Education (CCEE).
